Ford 4.3 260 - Production Years 1962-1965

Description

Chevy/GM introduced their small block V8s in 1955, and after several years of engineering, Ford released their version of the small block V8, the Windsor, in 1961.

In 1962, Ford’s small block motors debuted in the Ford Fairlane. The 4.3 260 was the second version of that motor.

This version increased the bore size and could push 164 hp.

In 1963, the Ford 260 became the standard motor in all full-sized Ford cars, but by 1964 Ford shut down production on the 260.
